NOTHING TO BE DONE
IN MY WORK NOTHING TO BE DONE I DEAL WITH DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF LIFE FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE 21st CENTURY. THE WORK IS LARGELY INFLUENCED BY FILM AND LITERATURE, BUT MOSTLY BY MY OWN LIFE, PERSONAL EXPERIENCES AND OBSERVATIONS. AN IMPORTANT PART OF PRODUCING THE SERIES IS THE VISUAL DIARY, I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED SINCE 2008, ACTING AS MY SKETCHBOOK.
ALTHOUGH THE IMAGES DEPICT SITUATIONS FROM EVERYDAY LIFE, I CHOOSE TO STAGE EACH IMAGE, ALLOWING ME TO ADD AN EXTRA LAYER, WHICH ENCOURAGES THE VIEWER TO CONSIDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES THAT LED TO THAT SITUATION. WHILE THIS LAYER EXISTS, IT IS OPEN FOR THE VIEWER TO EXPLORE AND INTERPRET. THE WORK HIGHLIGHTS THE NUANCES OF EVERYDAY LIFE.
I CHOOSE TO WORK WITH 8x10-FORMAT, WHICH ALLOWS ME TO WORK IN A MORE MANUAL WAY, IN CONTRAST TO THE BUSYNESS OF EVERYDAY LIFE.
